As a forthcoming Bat Mitzvah project, Lily Kaufman originated, planned and executed a “Shop to STOP CANCER” fundraising event in memory of her aunt, Marni Levine, who died of breast cancer at age 37. The event took place at the Tarzana Village Shopping Center recently with participating stores and restaurants – Billy’s, Harrison’s, Jane’s, Plaza Sports, Hummus Bar, Waba Grill and Yogen Fruz. 20% of all sales benefitted the STOP CANCER Marni Fund, dedicated to funding cancer research at UCLA’s Jonsson, USC’s Norris and City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Centers.
STOP CANCER members and Tarzana Village shoppers helped raise over $7,000 for the Marni Fund – to Lily’s delight. This young entrepreneur wants to do another Shopping event for cancer research!
